Organization: 
Established in 1998, Global Nomads Group (GNG) is an international NGO that develops 
educational and media programs for youth in the US and worldwide. In particular, GNG 
uses media and technology to connect students across the world, so that they can learn about 
each other and work together towards mutual understanding and peace.  In its 1

year history, 
GNG has conducted programs in more than 45 countries and reached more than one million 
young people. 
Summary of Position:
GNG is seeking a Program Fellow to support the implementation of the Students Rebuild: 
The Democratic Republic of Congo [SR: DRC] program.  This is a 10-month fellowship, 
based out of New York City and Eastern DRC.  Students Rebuild mobilizes young people to 
learn, connect, and take action on critical global issues.  The objective of SR: DRC is to 
rebuild livelihoods of those in the DRC after decades of conflict through engaging youth in 
the US and DRC in collaborative social entrepreneurship activities.  The Fellow will be 
responsible for day-to-day management of the program, including relations with DRC-based 
partners, participating schools in the US and abroad, student outreach, curriculum and 
program development, engagement in social media, and oversight of field logistics.  The 
Fellow will spend the initial 5 months in NYC, working directly with North American 
program participants and will spend the following 5 months in DRC, working directly with 
Congolese program participants.  In addition, the Fellow will serve as the primary liaison 
between field partners and GNG HQ. 
Committed and enthusiastic, with relevant experience as to the qualifications below, the 
Fellow will ensure compliance with GNG’s standards for high-quality, interactive 
programming and Students Rebuild program branding.  
Main Tasks and Responsibilities: 
- Support planning, program and financial management of the project;
- Develop collaborative project-based curriculum, focusing primarily on social 
entrepreneurship activities;
- Ensure coordination and maintain communications with participating educational
institutions in the US and DRC
- While in DRC, serve as liaison between GNG HQ and field partners
- Facilitate in-person training for DRC youth participants and virtual discussions 
between students in English speaking and Francophone countries
- Actively engage in social media, including: blogging, fb/twitter updates
- Support project monitoring, reporting and evaluation;
- Work with GNG units on media production, knowledge management and 
administration. Qualifications Include: 
- Previous experience working with youth, ages12-18 in formal or informal education  
- Highly developed and proven facilitation/moderation skills
- Impeccable English writing, editing and communication skills
- French fluency is required- both oral and written
- Knowledge of current conflict in DRC 
- Past traveling experience is required/travel in Africa is a plus 
- Internet and computer proficient; knowledge of media/journalism production will be 
considered an asset.
