Eyebeam Art + Technology Center Full-time Communications Director

Eyebeam Art + Technology Center is looking for a full-time (5 days/week) 
Communications Director to start mid-July 2013.

Eyebeam is the nation’s leading center for art and technology, offering artists 
and creative technologists paid residencies in its Chelsea facility, in addition 
to a wide range of public programs.
 
We are looking for a creative self-starter who can work closely with our staff 
and artists to tell the Eyebeam story. The candidate should be able to engage 
with audiences through both traditional and social media, and should have a 
solid understanding of the art and technology communities. Excellent writing 
skills, a strong design sense, and an ability to think strategically are 
essential. A minimum two years experience in Marketing or PR is required.
 
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
 
– Excellent writing skills and ability to craft press releases about 
Eyebeam initiatives and artist projects
– Fluency with social media 
– Experience in digital design and marketing, including creating email 
blasts and updating web content
– Ability to cultivate and maintain press relationships
– Availability to respond to email/social media/phone inquiries outside of 
regular office hours
– A strong understanding of the contemporary media art field
– Ability to interpret and improve online metrics
– Eagerness to join Eyebeam’s creative team in facilitating the most 
exciting work in the field!
Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. Please note any experience you 
may have in the following: front-end web development, UX design, graphic 
design, or still photography/videography.
