New York/Newark Media Internship Available

Organizational Overview:

Washington Koen Media, Inc. is a video production and media company focused on creating high impact media that boast socially responsible messages. We produce short & long form documentaries and presentations for corporations, television, and Internet. Additionally, WK Media specializing in streaming video solutions and audio/visual support. 


Description of Position:  Award winning documentary film company seeks self-motivated interns who have interests in documentary filmmaking, journalism, new media, and marketing. Qualified candidates will receive school credit along with the opportunity to work closely with production team on/off film sets.



Assist team in supervised office capacity

Assist in on set production

General project research 

Plan and schedule meetings, visits, focus groups and interviews 

Assist in preparations for post-production, possibly some basic editing

Possibly assist in transcription



Must be a current college student (pursuing an associates, bachelor’s or master’s degree)

Journalism, Communications, Film/TV Productions, New Media & Marketing majors preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Strong communications skills

Excellent writing, verbal, and organizational skills

Must be able to take initiative and prioritize

Ability to listen and communicate clearly and effectively with people 

Availability to travel to Newark, NJ and NYC.

Mac OS, Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier proficiency is a plus

Bi-lingual  (Spanish) speakers are a plus, however not required



Interns will work 15-20 hours per week beginning in March 2014 through June 2014. Start and end dates and work hours are flexible.  If mutually agreeable there may be the possibility of a part-time position in the summer as a production assistant.
