Comparing colleges — do the math

I get this question a lot about NYFA.  It’s not a degree-granting program in NYC.  There is a degree program, but that’s in California.  And you’re paying almost NYU prices for no degree, so no, I don’t recommend it in place of finishing your Associate’s degree and then your Bachelor’s degree.  Compare facilities and prices to some local schools below:

New York Film Academy in NYC — NO degree program and $18,000/semester!

ECC — A.A. and A.A.S. degrees, $2.6 million HD broadcast and new media facilities,  NYC media faculty / $108/credit in-county $217/credit out-county

Montclair State University — B.A. and B.FA. degree and multi-million dollar media facilities, including HD TV studio, NYC media faculty, $4,000/semester

William Paterson University — B.A. and B.F.A. degree and TV and Radio stations on campus, $3600/semester

City College Film program — B.F.A. / $2715 per semester NY state or $485/credit for non-resident

NYU Tisch school — B.F.A. and B.A. / $45,000/yr
